Vivonet, the company behind Halo Secure Web-Based POS celebrates it's 10-year anniversary today.
Remarkable, considering all of the factors that stacked up against the
success of the company. What's always fascinating about success stories like this is the tenacity shown
by the entrepreneurial founders as they fought their way to beat those
odds.
I sat down with the co-founders of the company, Ryan Volberg (CEO and
President) and Kevin Falk (CFO) asked them about some of the lessons
they learned along the way.
In a previous post, I made reference to Chilean Baby Back Ribs and the way they were cut. Having worked in and around this industry for nearly 20 years, I've seen ingredient trends come and go. Some of the ingredients and menu items graduated from fad to classic (Buffalo Hot Wings) while others have simply been replaced with "the next big thing". Remember Oleo?
Well, there is one ingredient that continues to inspire professional chefs and has been for over 6000 years. It's been referred to as "the magic ingredient". Today we pay homage to that tremendous product.
This is not about showing up on the first page of Google search results.
It's about thinking about your restaurant the way that Google would if they were running it.
In Jeff Jarvis' book What Would Google Do?, he dedicates a chapter to
describing what he thinks Google would do if they were in the retail
business and specifically describes the restaurant indusry.
